What is Growth Plan Design™?
Growth Plan Design™ is a structured program that helps leadership teams translate ambition into a practical plan for the business.
Many companies have goals. They may even be SMART goals. But goals alone do not automatically create a clear path forward.
Growth Plan Design helps leadership examine the goals they have set for the business, pressure-test them through the SMARTER framework, and connect them to the economic realities of the company.
Through a series of facilitated conversations with a MiM™ Coach, leaders clarify what the business is meant to accomplish and how the organization will achieve it.
The result is a clearly defined growth plan documented in the company’s Digital Playbook, giving leadership a shared reference point for how the business intends to move forward.
When to Recommend
Growth Plan Design is recommended when leadership has ambitions for the business but the path to achieving them is not clearly defined.
Coaches should consider recommending this program when they observe signals such as:
- Leadership has goals but cannot clearly explain how the business will achieve them
- Revenue targets exist, but the economic assumptions behind them are unclear
- The company is entering a new phase of growth or change
- Leaders want greater clarity around how the business should grow
In these situations, Growth Plan Design helps leadership move from ambition to a clear and practical growth plan.
The Role of the Coach
Growth Plan Design is guided by a MiM™ Coach, who facilitates the conversations that shape the company’s growth plan.
The Coach’s role is not to impose goals or arrive with predetermined answers. Instead, they guide the discussion and ask the questions that help leaders think more clearly about what they want the business to accomplish.
By challenging assumptions and encouraging deeper reflection, the Coach helps the leadership team examine their goals through the MiM™ lens and translate ambition into a practical plan for the business.
Program Outline
Growth Plan Design™ is delivered through a series of four facilitated sessions with the leadership team.
Each session builds on the previous one, helping leaders clarify their goals, examine the economic realities of the business, and define the priorities required to achieve the outcomes they want.
By the end of the program, the leadership team has translated ambition into a clear and practical growth plan documented in the company’s Digital Playbook.

In this session, the leadership team examines the growth goal they currently have for the business — or defines one if it has not yet been clearly established. Together with the Coach, leaders pressure test the goal through the SMARTER framework to ensure it is anchored to the company’s end game and produces real impact for the business.

From here, the organization can begin executing against the priorities defined in the plan — strengthening the systems, relationships, and capabilities required to produce the results it was designed to achieve.
