What is This Phase?
Full Engine Build™ is the second phase of the MiM™ Client Journey. It follows the First 180™ and precedes the Infinite Loop™.
The First 180™ moves fast on what matters most. It addresses the most pressing priorities in the first six months of the engagement, gets the client into motion, and delivers quick, impactful wins that prove the value of the system and the quality of the team's delivery.
This phase does not end until something real exists in every sub-component — which for most companies takes anywhere from 12 to 18 months. What that looks like depends on the sub-component, the business, and where they are in their maturity.
A company ready to split a combined growth role does it now. A company that needs to but cannot yet has a documented plan with clear milestones tied to specific business conditions. A company with a foundational content system gets an upgrade. A company with no content presence gets a blog stood up and a LinkedIn presence established.
This is the work of the Coach and Architect. They bring the expertise to know why each sub-component matters, in what order it needs to be addressed, and how to sequence the work strategically for each individual business.
The path through the Growth Engine is rarely a single pass. Over the course of 12 to 18 months, a client may make two or three revolutions through the wheel — returning to earlier quadrants with new capacity, new data, and a more mature organization. The Coach and Architect guide every step of that journey, keeping the client moving and ensuring nothing gets left behind.
Why It Matters
The Growth Engine represents MiM™'s determination of what every company needs to have functioning in order to grow without hitting a ceiling.
Most companies grow for a while. They land new clients, build a reputation, and develop some momentum. But at some point, the growth stalls. The market still has opportunity. The team is still capable. What holds the business back are the gaps in the engine — a role that was never properly defined, a story that was never clearly articulated, a relationship category that was never systematically pursued, a referral program that exists in theory but has yet to be activated.
Those gaps quietly limit what is possible.
The Full Engine Build™ exists because MiM™ believes that a company with every sub-component of the Growth Engine truly in place operates differently than one that does not. The team is aligned and led with intention. The story is sharp, the systems support it, and the brand shows up with credibility. The reach strategy is active across the right channels. The relationship engine is working to expand what exists, land what fits, and multiply what is working.
When all of that is functioning, growth stops being a series of one-off wins and starts becoming something that builds on itself. Every new relationship benefits from the infrastructure behind it. Every outreach effort lands in a system designed to convert it. Every client experience is designed to produce the next one.
That is what the Full Engine Build™ phase makes possible — a business that is structurally capable of compounding growth, ready in every area for the Infinite Loop™ to do its job.
The MiM™ Lens
Most businesses are not thinking about their growth engine. They are thinking about their next deal, their next hire, their next quarter. The systems, structures, and infrastructure that support growth get built informally, incrementally, and often accidentally — added when something breaks, updated when something hurts, and ignored until the pain becomes impossible to work around.
A CRM gets loaded with contacts over two decades. One day, someone looks at it and realizes it has become completely unmanageable. A sales role expands quietly until one person is doing the job of three. A brand story gets told differently by every person in the organization because it was never written down in a way that stuck. None of these are failures of effort. They are the natural result of a business that was growing without a framework to grow inside of.
MiM™ takes a different approach. The Growth Engine gives the Coach and Architect a complete picture of what every healthy, scalable business needs to have in place — and the Quadrant Completion™ is the phase where that picture gets compared, systematically, against the reality of the client's business. The gaps get found before they become emergencies. The structures get built before they become bottlenecks. The systems get designed before they become liabilities.
That is the difference between a business that reacts to its own growth and one that is built to handle it.
The Team's Role
The MiM™ Coach
The Coach's role in the Full Engine Build™ is to guide the client through the Growth Engine with purpose and clarity. This is not an open-ended exploration — the Coach knows exactly where they are going. Every sub-component of the wheel gets examined, evaluated, and addressed. The Coach brings the expertise to know why each piece matters, how it connects to everything else, and how to sequence the work in a way that makes sense for the specific business. For a client, the scope of what needs to be built can feel significant. The Coach's job is to make it feel manageable, keep the momentum moving, and ensure nothing gets skipped.
The MiM™ Architect
The Architect translates the Coach's direction into executable structure. In the Full Engine Build™, that work spans both first-time builds and refinements — standing up systems that have never existed, strengthening ones that were started in the First 180™, and ensuring everything in the Playbook reflects where the business is headed. The Architect surfaces gaps between strategy and execution and keeps the client's infrastructure current at every stage of the build.
MiM™ Studios
The Studios are the execution layer of the engagement. When the build calls for specialized work — a brand campaign, a CRM buildout, a content system, a trade show experience — the Coach and Architect activate the relevant Studio to deliver it. Studios also engage directly with clients when a program benefits from subject matter expertise presented firsthand. The Coach and Architect lead the strategy and the relationship. The Studios bring the capability to execute it.
Completing the Full Engine Build™ is genuinely earned. Most businesses never make it through this phase — it requires a level of discipline, focus, and patience that is rare. The ones who do emerge with something that took real work to build: a team that is aligned and accountable, a message that is clear and consistent, a value proposition that lands, customer profiles that are defined and actionable, CRM systems built on best practices, documented processes, and a rhythm to how they expand existing relationships and land new ones.
That is not just a better-run business. That is a business built to compound value. And that is exactly what the Infinite Loop™ is designed for. Click below to learn more about the final stage of the MiM™ client journey.
